These photos are so cute! Can’t wait to see the rest of them. I’m bookmarking your photographer’s website — perhaps I can get her to do Liam’s 2-year photos 🙂

  2. These pics melt my heart! Especially with you guys snuggle lovin’ on her! Let me know if you have any recommendations for photographers in KC. I’m sure I’ll be needing some pics once my lil guy pops out!

Thanks so much Jessaca! I only really know my wedding photographer (Epagafoto) in KC but I’m far preferring Linda’s style when it comes to family photography. I’m not sure of any one in KC who follows in her footsteps. I do have a friend who lives in MN that occasionally visits KC (friends friends everywhere!) who is building her portfolio: http://crystalliepa.com/home.html

By the way congrats! I’m reading up on your blog and it seems like all is going well! I also have a doula friend in LS/KC area…let me know if you want her info!

    • Okay, I don’t actually know you Jessaca, but we live in KC. We use Red Bicycle Photography for our family and baby photos, as do most of my coworkers. Their style is a bit different from Linda’s, but they do a great job and are really, really good with the little ones. And their prices are about as reasonable as you’re going to get around here. http://www.redbicyclephotos.com.

But there are tons of photographers in KC so if you look around, I’m sure you can find one you like!

And Julie — great one-year photos; the dress is perfect with her eyes!

Thanks Katie! I was hoping you would share your photographer! Another one is Kelly Jackson Photography…

  3. Some of my favorites are all of you with the dog! What a great family memory. I love that this photographer came to your house and caught some everyday and real memories. Things that you do everyday but don’t have a professional photographer to capture!

I’ll let you know about the doula. My prenatal instructor is a doula and I think we’ll be able to use her. Now if only I can have an easy labor and baby. 🙂

  4. Glad I was finally able to open the link! They turned out great! Not to disparage Jessica because I think she’s an amazing wedding photographer, but these are so much better than the 6-month session! I just like this style so much better for family and kid pictures. Really caught her personality.

My favorites were generally the ones Linda chose to put on her blog. I also liked 8, 47 and 74, and then I LOVE the series of 3 (79-81) where she is peeking over the dining room table. There are some great shots with Charlie. 86 is a great shot of Syd and Royce — they have the same expression on their faces! And the couple of her screaming are priceless (esp. 89) — let’s face it, they do a lot of that at this age!

Good luck choosing — hope you don’t break the bank! (I know I always came close — there are just too many cute ones to choose from).

I totally agree with you Katie. It’s so much more personal to have someone come to your house and catch you ‘living’. That one of her screaming is a riot…cause Royce just set her down and you can still see his hands in the photo. Sadly that happens about every night when you put her on the floor so you can do something. LOL

Thankfully I get a disk with all the low-res images (can print up to a 5×7) but the ‘big prints’ I need to order from Linda. I’m so grateful that she lets us keep all the images (for a reasonable price)…I actually get angry at photographers who don’t. It’s not like they keep them so they can flip back in years past to see how your child grew so the only reason they are holding them hostage is to make $$$. Yet another reason I love Linda…she understands that!
